Once trained professional goalies playing in Europe and the NHL, I know that the goalkeeper is responsible for the first station, and then their defense is to clean up the rebound, if there is one. This works in theory, but it contributes little to the hockey goalkeeper who let in another goal console.
All the goalkeepers have to fast-moving a cross the crease. A good goalie in a position to quickly move across the crease again, but an excellent goalkeeper will train to move quicklyon the crease and then back again if necessary.
